PMU Brows Pre-Treatment Checklist

Proper preparation begins well in advance. Follow the timeline below to ensure optimal results.

1. Stop using retinol, Retin-A, tretinoin, AHAs, BHAs, and Vitamin C serums on your brow area.
2. Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, or facials.
3. No Botox or filler in the brow/forehead area.

1. Avoid sunburn or tanning (including sunbeds).
2. Refrain from blood-thinning medications/supplements such as:
  a. Aspirin
  b. Ibuprofen
  c. Fish oil
  d. Vitamin E
  e. Niacin (Consult your doctor before stopping any medication.)
3. Do not wax, tint, thread, or laminate your brows.

1. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and energy drinks—these increase bleeding and sensitivity.
2. Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

1. Arrive with your everyday brow makeup on. This helps Sarah understand your preferred style and colour. It will be gently removed before the treatment begins.
2. Eat a light meal beforehand to help maintain your blood sugar.
3. You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
4. Your brow area must be free from infection or skin conditions.
5. Come well-rested and calm—stress balls and fidget toys are available for your comfort.
6. Optional: Bring photos or brow inspo if you have a preferred look.

Post - Treatment care Guide

Aftercare is crucial for healing and achieving the best possible results. Poor aftercare can impact retention and may result in additional charges for retouches.

What to Expect Immediately After Treatment

1. Some whiteness or blanching around the area is normal and will fade within hours.

2. You may experience redness, swelling, tenderness, or mild bruising—this typically subsides within a few days.

1. Keep the area completely dry for at least 7 days. If water touches your brows, blot gently with a clean paper towel—do not wipe.
2. Avoid: Saunas, steam rooms, Jacuzzis, and swimming pools. Direct sunlight and sunbeds. Sweaty activities (e.g,. intense workouts)
3. Wear a hat or large sunglasses when outside to shield your brows.
4. No makeup or skincare products on the treated area until fully healed.
5. A post-treatment cream may be provided—use it only as directed. Less is more. If your skin feels fine without it, do not apply.

1. Your skin will form a light scab, which protects the area while it heals.
2. This scab will naturally flake away over up to 2 weeks. DO NOT pick or pull at the scabs—this can lead to infection and pigment loss.
3. After scabbing, the colour may appear very light or faded. This is normal. Over the next 4–6 weeks, the pigment will deepen and settle into the skin.

Treatment

Experience the transformation as we skilfully performs your chosen treatment using state-of-the-art techniques for optimal results.

Top Up

Complete your look with a top-up session. This ensures longevity and enhances the vibrancy of your treatment, keeping you looking fabulous for longer.

Colour Booster

Over time, colour can fade due to factors such as sun exposure or skincare products. A colour booster can help refresh the look of the semi-permanent makeup.

Important Notes

This is a two-stage procedure. Your brows are not considered complete until your second appointment.

Your top-up session should be booked between 4–8 weeks after your initial treatment. Treatments booked after 8 weeks will be considered an annual top-up or colour boost, and charged accordingly.

Trust The Process

Healing takes time and every stage is completely normal—from flaking to fading to final settling. Sarah is here to guide you every step of the way. Following this advice ensures your brows heal beautifully and retain their colour and shape for as long as possible.

Your Most Common Brow & Lash Questions Answered

What is Semi-Permanent Makeup?

Semi-permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, is a cosmetic technique that employs tattooing to create makeup-like designs on the skin. This process involves inserting natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. It’s commonly used for eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip colour enhancements. The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

The duration of each semi-permanent makeup procedure can vary. Typically, the initial session lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This includes consultation, colour selection, and the application process. Touch-up sessions, which are usually done a few weeks after the initial application, may take less time. We recommend allocating sufficient time for your appointment to ensure the best possible results.

The level of discomfort experienced during semi-permanent makeup procedures varies from person to person. Most clients report minimal discomfort. We apply a topical anaesthetic before the procedure to numb the area, which helps in reducing pain. It’s important to communicate with your technician throughout the procedure to ensure your comfort.

Semi-permanent makeup typically lasts between 1 to 3 years. The longevity depends on several factors, including skin type, exposure to sun, and skincare routines. Regular touch-ups are recommended to maintain the colour and shape. Over time, the pigment will fade, necessitating a refresh session.

Proper aftercare is crucial for the healing process and longevity of semi-permanent makeup. After the procedure, avoid getting the area wet for at least a week. This includes sweating and swimming. Apply the aftercare ointment provided as directed, usually twice a day. Avoid sun exposure and refrain from using skincare products containing exfoliants or strong chemicals on the treated area. Full healing typically takes 4 to 6 weeks.
